Transport Time

The transport time is the time in which a work item, for example, a workpiece or document, is transferred to another location, physically or electronically. For example, this can be the time between dispatch and arrival of an article to the customer. During the transport time, no further processing can usually take place. The cycle time of the process cycle is made up of the transport time, the processing time, the idle time, and the wait time.
