AI tops European business leaders’ IT investment priority list
This article focuses on European findings from a new report from The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), sponsored by Appian. The global survey includes the views of over 1,000 business and IT executives in nine countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK.
Key findings on IT’s changing mandate in an age of disruption in Europe include:
- European respondents see AI and machine learning as their top IT investment priorities over the next year.
- Nearly six in ten European business leaders (58%) report that they have had to cancel a digital project for lack of access to the right data.
- About half (51%) of robotic process automation (RPA) projects in Europe failed.
- 40% of European respondents cited closer collaboration between IT and non-IT business units as the key to achieve their organisation’s automation objectives.
