As Appian’s Industry Lead, Global Defense and Intelligence, Matt is responsible for building and executing the global market strategy for government defense and intelligence customers.

Prior to joining Appian, Matt served on active duty in the Navy for 28 years, as both a Surface Warfare Officer and Navy Judge Advocate, deploying twice and retiring at the rank of Captain. In his final two tours, Matt served at Navy JAG Headquarters, leading its Knowledge Management office and serving as Director of Technology, Operations and Plans, responsible for the security, physical security, operations, future operations, future plans, infrastructure, facilities, space management and information technology for the Navy’s global legal practice.
