Appian is a Leader in Gartner's Low-Code Magic Quadrant—Again

Appian improved its ranking with Gartner on both vision and ability to execute.

For the past two years, Appian has scored high marks in both categories, landing in the upper right corner of the Low-Code Magic Quadrant as a leader.

Why this matters

As organizations using traditional coding methods develop applications to engage their customers, empower their employees, and outpace the competition, they're seeing mixed results.

    • 50% of all requests for custom application development end in failure.

    • 40% of resources and development time is spent on "technical debt".

    • New apps built using traditional development methodologies are already outdated before launching.

According to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for 2020 Enterprise Low-Code Application:

"By 2023, over 50% of medium to large enterprises will have adopted a low-code application platform."

The only hybrid low-code application and process automation leader

Appian is the only company recognized as a leader by industry analysts in both low-code development and process automation.

According to Gartner, "Appian is a Leader in this Magic Quadrant. Its LCAP (version 20.1) offers low-code app building, rich multiexperience capabilities, business process orchestration, automated decisioning, AI/ML and RPA. The platform focuses on complex processes such as end-to-end case management and other applications requiring sophisticated automation, rules and analytics.".

Appian's technological differentiators include full-stack automation capabilities, prebuilt no-code integration with various AI services, and end-to-end life cycle support for DevOps.

Magic quadrant capabilities in action

With these capabilities, plus the speed factor - the ability to build applications 20x faster than traditional code - organizations across sectors have been putting Appian to work.

Alabama Power is one place where the Appian platform is enabling the rapid deployment of high-impact solutions. "Appian gives us speed because we are able to take an idea and go to actual execution and deployment much faster than we can with the older technologies."

Companies like Barclays, Merck, and Aviva have been using Appian's low-code automation platform to run critical processes. At the University of South Florida, it's helping the 50,000+ student campus support students during the COVID-19 pandemic. And Appian is helping organizations quickly respond to rapidly changing conditions, like those in the transportation sector.

"What surprised us the most is the speed at which we are able to develop an app and get it deployed," said truck rental company Ryder.

The future of low-code automation

Appian delivers capabilities enterprises need to achieve true digital transformation in a unified low-code platform:

    • Build Apps Fast using visual tools that empower IT and line of business to create beautiful, powerful apps.

    • Embrace Multi-experience Development for engaging, consistent user experiences across web, mobile, and other digital touchpoints.

    • Leverage No-code Integration to connect and act upon data across databases, cloud services, and legacy systems no migration necessary.

    • Realize the Power of Hyperautomation by creating apps that automate end-to-end processes by orchestrating humans, bots and AI.

    • Deploy with Confidence with DevSecOps and its built-in security-focused, continuous delivery.

    • Deliver Enterprise Grade security, scalability, and reliability to support mission critical business apps.
