Appian Announces Appian SAIL and the Next Generation of BPM Software

Unique Architecture for Dynamic User Interfaces Extends Industry-leading Innovations in Mobility, Social Collaboration and Enterprise Data Navigation

McLean, VA – Appian, the market leader in modern business process management (BPM) software, today extended its position as the driving force for BPM software innovation with the unveiling of the latest version of the Appian 7 BPM Suite. The new release features Appian SAIL, Appian’s unique Self-Assembling Interface Layer that delivers dynamic and responsive web and native-mobile user interfaces through a “write once, deploy everywhere” architecture. Appian SAIL makes it easier than ever to design and use solutions that integrate social collaboration, native mobility, flexible cloud/on-premise delivery, and enterprise data discovery in the industry’s leading work process platform.

This confluence of capabilities enables faster and more intelligent business processes that drive new growth and new levels of customer engagement. According to research firm Gartner, Inc., “Four independent forces — social, mobile, cloud and information — have converged as a result of human behavior, creating a technology-immersed environment… Organizations that ignore the Nexus of Forces will be displaced by those that can move into the opportunity space more quickly — and the pace is accelerating.” 1

Appian SAIL delivers this Nexus of Forces to all employees throughout an organization. It features rules-driven interactivity that creates intelligent and completely dynamic interface experiences for users. Now, Appian customers can generate rich, graphical task, record and reporting dashboards that offer fast drill-down for analyzing data trends and getting new perspectives on business performance. In addition, all SAIL interfaces become immediately available on all leading web browsers and mobile devices with no additional development. This “write once, deploy everywhere” approach puts the promise of enterprise mobility into Appian customer hands without the extensive time and resources that other mobile development approaches require.

Records – Appian Records discovers and combines enterprise data into a single intuitive interface for users to rapidly find and take action upon data across disparate enterprise systems. Appian Records now has expanded search capabilities to automatically index key fields across all enterprise data sources. In addition, multiple views may now be created to give unique perspectives on each record item.

Reporting – New chart types with increased drill behavior allowing users to create rich and interactive reporting dashboards for both web and mobile users.

Rules Management – Appian Rules now include real-time and inline impact analysis. Designers can now see all impacted and dependent business rules while they edit.
