ONE OF WASHINGTON, DC’S LARGEST GATHERINGS OF NON-GOVERNMENT CIOS AND BUSINESS EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS RAPIDLY FLUCTUATING TECH AND BUSINESS LANDSCAPE

Reston, Va.— April 21, 2014 —Transforming organizations to drive revenue and engage customers through mobile, social, cloud and data platforms is the theme of Appian World 2014, the premier gathering of business and tech leaders discussing challenges and opportunities for today’s businesses. Appian will host its 6th annual users conference in Washington, D.C. from April 30 – May 2, 2014.

One of the largest events in Washington, DC, focused on enterprise technology, more than 800 business and tech leaders are expected to attend Appian World (#Appian14). CIOs and executives attending represent a variety of industries, including financial services, transportation, pharmaceuticals, labor unions and more.

Leaders will share insights on the business value of integrating social collaboration, big data analytics, native mobile access, and portable cloud delivery into a single platform that transforms business operations and yields excellence in customer service. Considering the changes to today’s modern worker and rapidly fluctuating business landscape, Appian World provides a forum to share best practices and lessons learned to not only maintain an organization’s status quo, but to find innovative ways to generate new revenues and improve the bottom line.

“Enterprise leaders face real issues: how to accelerate business growth and create the platforms that allow employees to work from anywhere at any time. What I hear over and over again from CIOs and business leaders is that technology has grown so complex that it can actually inhibit business growth,” said Matthew Calkins, President and CEO, Appian. “At Appian World 2014, these leaders will discuss how they are leveraging technology disruptors SMAC – social, mobile, big data analytics and cloud – to reinvent how businesses operate.”

Appian customer CIOs and organizational leaders presenting their innovation success stories at the conference include:

  • Daryl Plummer, Managing VP & Fellow, Gartner: “Taming Disruption”
  • Carl Stumpf, Managing Director and Technology Controller, CME Group; Brian Toba, Executive Director, Software Engineering, CME Group: “BPM for Growth: Driving Revenue, Not Just Efficiency”
  • William Flowers, VP of IT Services, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport: “Flying the Cloud to a Paperless Airport”
  • Michael Robbins, Associate Director, Technology & Information, Clinical Sciences, Sanofi: “Loosely Coupled, Tightly Executed: A Vision for Enterprise Case Management”
  • Matt Richard, CIO, Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA): “Transforming Customer Engagement”
  • Josh Seeman, Director of Process and Software Quality, Janus Capital Group: “Managing Risk and Process Innovation in Financial Services Operations”
  • Brian Matsubara, Head of Global Technology Alliances, Amazon Web Services (AWS): “Cloud Spotlight”

“Appian is providing a platform to assist Janus with reducing process risk and gaining efficiency throughout the organization,” said Josh Seeman, Director of Process and Software Quality, Janus Capital Group.
