Sibos 2019 is less than two weeks away and the Appian team couldn't be more excited. We've got a full line-up planned with lots of great presentations, special guests, and networking opportunities.

Here are just a few of the events you can look forward to:

Appian Presenting "SWIFT gpi: Revealing the roadmap"

Tuesday, September 24, 09:15 - 10:45, SWIFT Room 1:

Appian Financial Services Lead, Laura Paul, is presentingon SWIFT gpi's influence over the customer experience in cross-border payments and the work still to be done. The session will explore the host of new services that form the development roadmap, including gpi instant payments, financial institution transfer tracking service, payment pre-validation, inbound tracking for faster reconciliation, and more.

Two to ten percent of cross-border payments lead to an exception or an inquiry, often caused by missing or incorrect information in the payment message. Interbank efforts to resolve issues often involve multiple requests and responses across chains of banks, with unstructured and unstandardized messages, resulting in time-consuming, inefficient and costly processes. These issues slow down the payment, result in a bad customer experience and a significant increase in costs, given that exceptions management typically costs 20-35 times more than payment processing.

In light of these challenges, SWIFT has prioritized case management of cross-border payment exceptions and investigations as the most critical enhancement to gpi. Appian is partnering with SWIFT to provide payment investigation and case resolution of issues that occur on SWIFT cross-border transactions.

As a top leader in dynamic case management, Appian brings capabilities to the partnership with SWIFT that can drastically improve the customer experience and increase operational efficiencies:

    • Enable quick and frictionless resolution of operational, compliance, and regulatory issues that arise along the cross-border payments chain

    • Make payments more efficient

    • Interact across the payment chain in a far more dynamic, efficient, and transparent manner, ultimately better serving customers

Key benefits and capabilities with Appian and SWIFT include:

    • Automate end-to-end processes for faster issue resolution across the payments chain

    • Gain complete visibility over cases between institutions with centralized workflows, full tracking and audit trails, management views of KPIs, and SLAs for resolution of inquiries

    • Eliminate manual tasks and inefficiencies with seamless integration among existing environments

    • Unify, aggregate, and evaluate data and case patterns over time
