Punch Taverns is one of the UK's leading leased pub companies with a portfolio of more than 4,000 leased pubs. Pubs have been around for centuries and serve as a landmark of UK heritage. However, a great deal of pressure from various leisure alternatives threaten the pub business, as home entertainment systems, communicating through social media as opposed to in-person, and competing beverage prices from supermarkets are just a few factors.

Kevin Dalley, Business Process and IT Director at Punch Taverns, spoke at Appian World 2014 about how to leverage modern enterprise software across an entire organization ñ evolving from a crucial "point solution" to a strategic enterprise platform.

Core to the Punch Taverns business transformation involved leveraging Appian Records as a CRM solution to centralize pub data, making that data available in the field through native mobility, and surfacing previously manual process events in the Appian Tempo activity stream. Dalley explains how Punch Taverns is radically changing its view of the relationship between enterprise data and business process to achieve the full value of Appian's modern Work Platform.
