The New Yearis off to an exciting start at Appian, asit seems everyone has been pretty busy through the first month of 2014.And givenour 2013 success, there is plenty of reason to be excited. Announced last week, Appian saw an 86 percent increase in total software license orders over 2012 for the Appian BPM Suite, as we continue to position ourselves as an enterprise leader delivering a modern Work Platform.

While Appian delivers full functionality on-premise and in the cloud, with complete portability between deployment environments, the company is increasingly trending towards being a cloud business. Appian's cloud license revenue grew 90 percent year over year, and total subscription-based license orders (cloud and on-premise term licenses) have grown at a 119 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) 2010-2013.

With product innovations such as Appian7, more than 70 new customers decided2013 was theyear totrust Appian to deliver ona modern wayof achieving business success.Appian helped users overcome data silos and drive smarter decision-making by implementing a business strategy to combine the best of social, mobile and access to data, all harnessed by the industry's most responsive and interactive user interface, driven by Appian SAIL (Self-Assembling Interface Layer). This innovation has continued in 2014 during this month's release of the latest version of Appian 7, as core features for mobile, task management and social collaboration have been further enhanced.

Throughout 2013, Appian continued to be a worldleader in traditional BPM markets such as Financial Services, Insurance and Government, while attracting new customers in emerging markets like Retail, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare. International expansion and revenue grew by more than 70 percent, as Appian expandedstaff in its EMEA regional headquarters in London (adding new offices in France and Germany) and in Australia.

And of course I'd be remiss if I didn't mention we added over 150 new faces to our global staff in just 12 months.
