Denis Gagne, chairperson of the WfMC working group that developed the standard, explained that the improvement to simulation architectures fills a key need across the industry as a whole.
"A business process simulation standard has been a long time in waiting," said Gagne. "With the release of BPSim, the new business process simulation standard from WfMC, business process simulation can now take its rightful place as viable technique to support process design, reduce risk of change and improve efficiency in organizations. Not only does BPSim provide an open interchange of simulation scenarios, but it also provides a framework for the specification of simulation scenario data and results as a firm foundation for implementation."
