Indeed.com and the Washington Business Journal Recognize Appian’s Exceptional Employment Practices

Reston, Va.— June 3, 2013 —Appian, the market leader in modern business process management (BPM) software, has been named a “Best Place to Work” both nationally and in the Washington, D.C. area specifically. The company’s exceptional employment practices, including its commitment to engendering employee autonomy while rewarding creativity and excellence, have been recently recognized by two independent sources.

According to Indeed.com, the #1 job site in the world, Appian is the #1 company to work for in the nation in its size category. At the same time (and using a different methodology) the Washington Business Journal has ranked Appian a “Top 20 Best Places to Work 2013” in its category. Both lists are based on independently-solicited employee feedback.

Appian executive management runs the company under a policy called “Right to Amaze.” This policy ensures that every Appian employee is endowed with the right to think creatively, act autonomously, and amaze their peers and managers with their success.

The “Right to Amaze” policy is essential in supporting Appian’s number one priority: the success and satisfaction of its clients. Delivering transformational value and a superlative customer experience comes down to the quality of Appian’s people. Because Appian employees are given more freedom and responsibility than they would find at other companies, Appian sets a very high bar for recruitment. Appian CEO Matt Calkins personally interviews every prospective new employee, and Appian CTO Michael Beckley spends 50 percent of his time on recruiting.

“Appian delivers the greatest customer value in our industry because we constantly push the envelope of what BPM software can do,” said Mr. Calkins. “Such relentless innovation is only possible when you hire – and retain – stellar talent and allow it to flourish.”

Appian continues to hire aggressively across the organization to meet the global demand for its worksocial BPM platform. For information on employment opportunities, visit Appian Jobs.
